Their is a difference between that an your boss flat out asking you "are you lesbian gay or transgender" at a job interview this is about before you start work, not water cooler talk

That was your example I was using. If we're going to use Anomaly's, you get married, probably post pictures on Facebook or something, your boss sees them, and you get fired. I mean I guess if you take off your ring and don't talk about your personal life at all while at work they'll never find out, but A. Talking to coworkers at work makes the day so much fast, and B. You shouldn't have to hide who you are in a free society.

I'd argue that this isn't the land of the free no one was entitled to their own opinion. Your opinion is no more valid then the person that had a counter opinion. If you don't want to be put in a position where other people's opinions affect your life. Put in the work to get to a place of power - from someone who has a badass lesbian boss

Ok, but freedom aside, equal opportunity and the pursuit of happiness are difficult to achieve if you can be legally discriminated against.

Yea, but you have an equal opportunity to be the boss, achieve happiness an hire/fire whoever you choose, for whatever reason if their is even one give. I've been fired for far less then sexual discrimination. I don't use my choices as a excuse, because at the end of the day I made the choices I deal with the outcomes of those choices.

Edited by LowIQPlayz3445: 3/18/2016 10:13:12 PMBut sexual orientation isn't a choice. It's like being fired because you have green eyes. It's out of your control who you find attractive. This is why I made the comparison to race. And you cannot have equal opportunity if you are discriminated against. It's impossible. Do you still have some opportunity? Yes. It's nowhere near equal however. By allowing this to continue we are betraying our core American beliefs

What's your definition of equal? And how is it not ? You can be fired or not hired for any reason -seams equal You can own your own business You can marry You can adopt or have a child You have an equal opportunity to be and do whatever you want My point being 100% of the world won't always agree with you, and it's unconstitutional to tell people how to think. If you think it's bad here by all means move your opinion will quickly change on how you view discrimination in America.
