The sad story of my weekend raid challenge mode attempts
So about 11AM on Saturday morning I decided that it was finally time to beat Oryx on hard and get my very last calcified fragment. I was determined and I hit LFG to find equally determined guardians with the same goal. At 5:30PM that night my dream had still not come to fruition. Half a dozen times the team i was with got to the 12th orb and would have an issue and fail... that was on us, that was our bad and though tough to swallow, only determined our resolve to get this challenge beat. Two - three times though, we got all our Orbs (16) out and at the proper time made or synchronized mad dash to set them all off only to see Oryx go through his damage animation and his life not move not one sliver... to add insult to injury one time the bombs did hurt him and there weren't enough of us left alive to shut him down on his final clap. After another 16 orb detonation glitch/fail, one of the members of the fire team and I begrudgingly decided we would just do it on Normal - everyone else quit. Back to LFG, back down to Oryx, rinse and repeat, just on normal this time. Three more times the same thing happened. All 16 orbs went off and nothing happened, his life never moved. On the third time the team just fell apart and we agreed something wasn't working right and I called it a night (for raiding anyway).
I'm so but hurt. Just thought I'd share. Commiserate with me if you had a similar experience this weekend - or ever.
