CRUCIBLE TIERS
A suggestion to Bungie.. Since the release of TTK which brought the introduction of the MAYHEM style playlists, does this pave a way to an introduction of playlists WITHOUT supers & heavy ammo?? This I, and certainly others in the community would like to see.. Furthermore in regards to the actual posts title, CRUCIBLE TIERS. A big job I'm sure, but all this jargon about 'weapon balance' although it IS apparent but it also comes down to a players skill level. Now you guys (Bungie), keep track of everyone in the destiny community, what I'm getting at here is K.D RATIOS. Perhaps there would be alot less whinging if you could implement ACTUAL tier level playlists which is based on K.D ratios. I believe it would balance the whole crucible in it's entirety. ie; Sweaties vs. Sweaties, Casuals vs. Casuals) this would make things alot more fun and competitive, not the weapon balancing.. Okay so before you start to ramble, 'Trials of Osiris is for the top tier players', true, so what about everyone else? This SUGGESTION of mine would come with a 'lock out' system, for example, three tier playlists,(these K.D figures are purely examples, but from my experience, not a bad starting point) top tier players with K.D's of 1.4+ have the top tier play lists, players with K.D's of 0.9 - 1.3 have tier 2 playlists and beginers/casuals up to 0.9 K.D have tier 1 playlists. The 'lock out' system I meationed would simply mean this, once a player has achieved a certain K.D (for sake of suggestion) 1.5 K.D, the player would have NO CHOICE but to play top tier playlists because they earnt it and thats where they belong. The tier 2 would follow suit in the K.D range. Futher to this once a players K.D has dropped, then the lower tier would become available again.. So what about 'fresh to the game players' one may enter a tier 1 playlist, go PHANTOM then has to enter tier 3 because of ludicrous K.D? Answer, base the 'new comers' over 20 or so games and of coarse what level their character is, until then, tier 1 remains available.
So as the 'lock out' suggests advanced & expert players cannot enter lower tier playlists, however, this doesn't stop the lesser skilled players from entering the top tier playlists (just like Trials of Osiris). Maybe have tier based rewards such as shaders and armour as long as they're not O.P.. Okay sure, the community will probably start whinging I can't get/ I want that armour or shader you can only get from tier 3 playlists. RNG stands, so they can get it. For a change the expert players will not be able to aquire lower tier playlist rewards ie. shaders & armour, unless they sacrifice their hard fought & precious K.D. However those expert players deserve something right?? I couldn't agree more, an amour set and shader,(RNG based ie. boots, chest, helmet), exclusive to the top player of the match, & and maybe an emblem to say 'I was there'. This would probably be in a rumble match.
So there you have it BUNGIE probably 'THE BEST' idea in regards to 'Balancing'. Can it be done? I'd like to see it..
A note on Trials of Osiris. Once someones gone flawless and been to lighthouse for the week, they're locked out, giving other players a chance to visit lighthouse. Why have an area in the game of 'mythical beauty', completely unreachable and basically off limits to some players that just cannot quite get there. Not to mention the Grimiore cards that are completely unattainable to the players that like the 'Lore' of Destiny.
I'm an avid player of Destiny and want to help, not hinder this franchise. I've obviously put some thought into this, bring the fun back for the casuals and serious 'sweaty' competition for the experts. Rather than experts keeping K.D up by 'bringing the pain' on casuals.
