This prioritized skill over connection matchmaking (as well as many other issues that seem to be new with the Taken King) might have pushed me over the edge today. I play for fun, consider myself to be a skilled player, but don't take the crucible too seriously. I always play the objective and I'm careful with my lives despite being aggressive. I've been a stalwart defender of this game and it's potential since beta. Always considering all perspectives and giving bungie the benefit of the doubt since they won my heart with Halo. It's just a game, yes, but as the conglomerate of everything I've ever wanted in a game in my short 20 years on this planet, I can't avoid accepting the disheartening truth anymore. The truth that despite the expertly designed gunplay this game simply has too much taking away from the fun whenever I go in planning to enjoy myself. Too much is out of my control and PVE is simply too repetitive to continue enjoying after thousands of hours of recycled content. It's hard to let go of a game like Destiny for me because we all know how slim the chances are of getting a real attempt at an mmofpsrpg in a semi realistic thoughtful future space fantasy world, but I can't enjoy myself with anywhere near enough consistency anymore. I assure you all I go in with the intent to have fun and do not care for KD any longer. I can't afford to given all the factors that are no longer under my control. It pains me to say it, but I can't support bungie with my wallet anymore. I can't justify it. We were promised SO much more. I'm not pointing fingers. I don't know what went on at Bungie and I'm sure the majority of the people working there (even at the top) are good natured. However, understanding their situation does not excuse it. We were swindled in so many ways. I'm not saying destiny is dead. I'm very hopeful for it's future and I'm glad so many people are still happy with it. I hate all the posts about quitting destiny with the intent to persuade others to quit as well or that the game is dying. I'm not here to moan about my woes. I just want to share how heart broken I am that Bungie had no soul left to put into Destiny when they signed their contract with Activision. Here's to the days when video games were thought-provoking, fun, labors of love by their creators.
