Weather
Vary weathering to add dynamics into Destiny gameplay. The idea of night and daylight in PvP is a great idea, however night time is far too infrequent to make a significant impact. I should say, "Night time on Rusted Lands, I'm great at this." And in Trials, we should be waiting for night or day. It should be 50/50. That way, it'll make every game just that little bit more different.
I'm PvE, if I'm doing a Nightfall, I want a storm or thunder. Not butterflies and bright daylight. My heart is pumping, I'm still shooting, thunder is raining down. But no. That's how it SHOULD be; instead the weather is the same every time, and it makes strikes repetitive. Lightning might trigger if you stay in the same radius (say 15m) consistently for 30sec. Then it prevents camping and possible map glitches.
Respawns
Respawns are a big issue in PvP, those who play 3 v 3 and Trials consistently will know an ever growing problem - respawn times. It shouldn't take a split second to revive someone. If I take down one guy, then he is revived and suddenly two immune, overshielded opponents run after me I'm now at a disadvantage. When I die, I am punished. I gain 100 points yet lose 150 (due to the revive loss) points to the opposing team.
To solve this issue, respawn times should be at least 0.5 seconds slower and fast revives should only be applied on the first time you revive that individual teammate to avoid spam revives. That way, a full team with fast res is more beneficial than one with two.

Ammo Spawning
Ammo crates spawn too much across the board. Special ammo spawns too frequently, and ammo gained is too significant. With increased special ammunition, 6 bullets can be gained PER CRATE! If used widely, that secures 6 kills. That makes gameplay dominated not by primary kills, but special. You should be using special weapons carefully, not be running with a shotgun and carelessly firing. With this issue, it makes blink shotgunning a reliable tactic. Consequently, it makes PvP overall obnoxious to play against.
Heavy Ammo turns the tides too much to make games consistent. Per heavy crate, machine guns can secure solid 20 kills. Heavy should supply only a maximum of 30 (slow RoF) bullets and 50 (high RoF). Increased ammunition should only supply 10 additional bullets.
Heavy ammo lasts too long. By the time the first heavy is announced, by the time the second heavy is announced, most players still have their heavy! This makes supers inconsistent as to whether they can secure kills or get shut down immediately. It makes games less skilled and more luck based. Let's face it, Destiny isn't that competitive. Adding heavy... Yeah, that's just a no.
Overshield Revived
PvE could supply an Overshield for maybe a brief period for approximately 2sec, but immunity is stupid. That means you are resistant to ALL damage. It's a win, win. You get both the revive and immunity alongside with an Overshield! Where's the loss? It should be a high risk, high reward. Here you've created a low risk, massive reward.
In my opinion, immunity should be eradicated completely. I land a snipe, immunity. I shoot a rocket, immunity. I shotgun their face, immunity. It is a stupid design flaw in Destiny that ruins the idea of risking your life for a possible better outcome. It needs adjustment. This is what makes Destiny less and less competitive: addressing these problems may help the community lots.
Emotes, Shaders etc
We want each guardian to look different. Not the usual, TLW and 1000 yard state loadout the community use for Trials. Instead, we should be looking at our opponents and thinking, "Check this dude out, he has this sick emote!"
Rather than buying every available emote, maybe have a selection to show how you gravitate. For example, you might have an emote that pulls a pistol out blows the end to show that you prefer PvP. Or an emote that shows that your gravitate towards PvE. Maybe even an emote that shows you like SRL.
Emblems
There a limited emblems in the game that isn't accessible easily. Every emblem isn't difficult to obtain: the flawless emblem might be the only exception to some. Maybe have the skirmish emblem unlocked when you complete 25 matches of skirmish. Or an emblem with a scythe (like one obtained from the phantom medal) obtained when you successful obtain 5 phantom medals in one playlist.
Maybe you could have a Trials emblem with back to back snipers when you get 30 headshot kills with a sniper. That way, you could differ from other guardians by showing how you gravitate. The community might even be excited by the idea of completing all the emblems as a collection. We want to say, "We need a guy for Trials. Oh, that guy has that sniping emblem where you get 25 triple kills with snipers. He's pretty good." The community should be complementing success shown by their emblems.
I'll have more suggestions, but for now, I'll stick with these ideas. If you like them, give them a bump and hopefully Bungie will recognise the issues I've addressed and fix them. In addition, if you disagree, be sure to comment your suggestions. :D
