No, I think the guy sniped you, but the lag meant that it didn't register until after he had been killed by you. He probably got a post mortem medal.

He didn't get the kill though. Even if someone gets a postmortem it will show up in the feed

Well that's the thing though. Because he was already dead when she somehow fired the shot, they system couldn't determine who killed who, so it resorted to a simple "[insert here] is down".
