I believe instead of eliminating an entire game mode, why doesn't Bungie not nerf anything, but buff things up to the best guns (or armor pieces) level.

In a perfect world, yes.

Do Bungie know how to buff anything? I would contend that after seeing their "buffs" to ARs and ADS stability on Fusion Rifles, that the answer is a resounding hell no.

They never tried it, but face it, Bungie is far more likely to start buffing things than remove an entire game mode. (Yes, I know about TTK)
