For the Thicket Excavations? I went there earlier today. After a while when you complete the quest, the water drains and it turns into a Raider camp.
I like Piper and Dogmeat a lot.
X-01 is the best Power Armor.
Crater of Atom? I've heard something about Power Armor there...

Thanks and I got to the crater. Nothing really there but gamma guns and children of atom followers, piper is now my romance :), and haven't found that model yet

Same for me with Piper. Gives a lot of XP boost when you sleep with her, do it and then craft some guns... It really helps.
