I played the beta. You can tell a lot from a review, weigh up the positive, negative points of a game and make an educated guess.
I'm not gullible, won't be fooled by a big marketing campaign that builds up hype.

Well good, sorry for making assumptions. But that doesn't change the fact that of all the review sites you could use, Metacritic is one of the least reliable.
