I took a history of Rock 'n' Roll class in college, and I realized that there was a lot of garbage during the golden age of music. As time goes on, the garbage is forgotten and the good stuff stays behind (think about it, how many of the top songs from the past five years have survived in memory?)
The same is true for our favorite cartoons. Yes, the gold still shines, but we forgot about others that weren't great. In a few years' time, Dog with a Blog, Super Secret Fort Awesome, and [preteen singing star sensation show here] will be forgotten, and then this generation of kids will look back and remember the good shows.
