They come from an alternate version of our universe. The Traveler pulled parts of their planets to terraform ours, hence why there are Vex constructs in our system

No just that Crota discovered their realm after opening a tear between realms with his sword and the vex started pouring out. Then they transformed into the fighting machines we see now.

Nope. They appeared when the Traveler terraformed our Solar System.

They appeared when Crota accidentally opened a portal to their world/multiverse/or plane of existence. They where not the machines they are now..but they transformed after invading Oryxs thrown world into the fighting machines we know now.

Good point. That is how they go into the universe. They appeared to us during the Terraforming.
