No... I re-rolled a weapon exactly three times in HoW. I'm always low in weapon parts because I use them to upgrade weapons I find & try out. And I find & try out a LOT of weapons. Here's the or let with the current system: Bungie wants us to treat our drops like junk mail... Essentially trash it as soon as it comes in. We do this because it yields parts we need for weapons we care about. The effect this has is to make us hope for drops JUST so we can tear them apart & trash them. Let me ask you: do you look forward to getting home & finding mail addressed to you? Do you hope it's all junk mail so you can turn around & throw it in your recycling bin? That's effectively what Bungie expects of us. To go out hunting for junk, for trash. It completely undermines what I believe their intent for weapons drops originally was: to give us fun variants on weapon designs & archetypes that we'd be excited to try out.

  • The difference in your analogy is that I get nothing useful from trashing junk mail. At least when I dismantle a blue gun I get some parts and glimmer. But yeah, fair point. For players like yourself, who want to level up and try every gun they receive, you're probably going to find yourself short on materials a lot of the time. I would think that the Gunsmith selling weapon parts at least partly alleviates that issue, though. On the other hand, I would also think that players like yourself are not the majority. If they adjust the economy to accommodate the extreme ends of the range, the players in the middle (who are the majority) are going to find themselves flooded with stuff we don't need or even have space for. They are never going to strike a balance that works for every type of player.
