Ive been noticing an increase in the amount of disrespect from bungie employees on community forums.
Just look at todays weekly update and the extremely snarky and sarcastic comments from Deej such as "omg he only has 1600 weapon parts left we need to do something" and "we hold the right to do anything with the game economy we want."
Does anyone else think snarky comments like this are very unprofessional? Like Bungie you act like your some sort of hero for fixing a problem that YOU created.
Here is a comment from another post that explains my thoughts perfectly, all credit goes to user Wahrnye
"Just another joke of a weekly update that makes it easier to not look back on this game going forward.
Announcing the weapon parts change - Fine, but that's a fix to a problem THEY created. And when addressing the fact that THEY created this problem, DeeJ wraps it up in unnecessary snark about being curators of THEIR living world. Hubris to the highest degree; it's almost as if they're saying how dare we question their choices?
Let me say this next part slowly so the apologists can understand: Etheric Light and Wormspore uses should have been in the game since September's launch, not something coming soon by December. They knew Etheric Light was a thing that many people had plenty of and they also introduced Wormspore (apparently) without any regard for what to do with it outside a few weapon upgrades. IIt's going to take them almost 3 months to finally make these things meaningful? These are all issues they created by poor planning or bad oversight, not something they should be praised for fixing AFTER the fact.
The rest of the entire update was about the same tired PVP bullshit as almost every other weekly update. No news on new content, no commenting on the terrible loot system - especially in regards to raid drops (I love doing the raid and getting a fourth duplicate item at 302 light... ) - or the fact that Nightfalls, Strikes, and Court of Oryx ceases being rewarding once you reach 300 light or more.
I've seen this playbook before. Between this and Activision spouting off their easily manipulated "registered user" numbers (aka 'investor math'), they've pretty much already decided they're going to pander to the base players who believe Bungie can never, ever, do any wrong. Nothing will change going forward. Bungie and Activision are living in their own echo chamber - as evidenced by the fact that they spend more time conversing with the "community" on Bungie-friendly outlets like Reddit and Twitter..."
EDIT:
A lot of you seem to think im just looking for something to be offended by cuz im a "no balls toxic loser"
Its more im just fed up with the bullshit direction this game is taking like timegating exotics that i already payed for to extend gameplay time and patching things like weapon parts for no -blam!-ing reason
Perhaps the most irritating thing is the bungie fanboys and dickriders who will stop at nothing to defend everything the devs do to this game and every word that comes out of that douchebag known as Deej's mouth.
Go ahead meet me with ninja justice for stating the obvious about your shit company and bottomfeeder fanboys
EDIT2
It seems the common defense for Deejs tone is "oh bungie has to go through so much shit and complaining on the forums, people are meanies"
You people cant seriously believe its ok for a company to retaliate in this fashion. Oh no a game developer has to see negative feedback about the game they made wahh wahh prayers for bungie" All of you are saying "can the entitled/offended generation go away", if you ask me the people defending bungie with this mindset are the "offended generation."
Some of you say, "The customer is always right bullshit has to stop." Anyone who utters this is a complete moron and has either no concept of business ethics or is 15 years old and thinks they are being righteous and hip.
Go ahead, start a business and whenever a customer has a problem with you or the product, tell them to -blam!- OFF. Yea thats a good business model, you will surely succeed.

Here's the thing. Luke Smith was asked about etheric light months ago during the game informer TTK "month" and said it was something they would look at. While I think bungie has made huge strides in this game with this update/dlc (storytelling, trials bounties implementation, 3oC, quests etc.) the most frustrating thing is a lack of communication and a feeling that anything working for the player that doesn't work how they intended (3oC initially) is fixed incredibly fast, while things that work against us (nightfall rewards, weapon parts) or are gross oversights of omission on their part (etheric light trading) seem to take forever to fix. The problem to fixing this is easy, more communication with the player base about what is going on. The days of "trust us" are gone. That worked in Halo when the problems were small, but this game is a "living" environment with much more layers of complexity to it. As a player base we need to understand it takes longer to fix some things as a result, and bungie needs to understand they need to communicate that with us. I realize the problem with giving people hard dates for things as someone who works in a professional environment. It creates unnecessary stress on employees and the rush to meet a deadline can cause mistakes to be made unnecessarily. As a consumer I want the product to be as close to perfect when I receive it. The frustrating thing is that it feels like we consumers are not being treated as equals with the producers of this content. Tell us WHY there was no etheric light trading, this isn't a parent/child relationship, "because I said so" is not an acceptable answer. We are equals in this. None of us expect you to be perfect bungie, but if you could send us a text telling us you won't make it BEFORE we go to meet you for our date, that would be great.
-
Calm down. It's just a game.
-
I thought the same thing when I read the update. Laughed at the comment about Trials and Hammers being thrown and thought, Wow, so even they know Hammers are OP and have yet to do anything. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
Nobody's defending Bungie. They're laughing at your stupidity. If you can't understand there humour and take offence to it, that's your fault. Grow up. Pull those panties out. Complain about something worthwhile, like pollution or something.
-
hahaha one day you will have real problems little boy.
-
Stop playing then. Bungie does the make game, so yeah, they can make it however they want. They do have every right. Doesn't mean they should, if they want the best player experience, but they CAN. Think about how much they've changed and implemented and tweaked since vanilla launch in order to make our player experience better. Deej even said IN THE VERY UPDATE YOU ARE REFERRING TO, to continue to give feedback and tell them when something needs fixing. Spoiler alert, they can't fix everything at once. Things take time. Also, how many other games constantly receive player feedback and make changes to the game via live patches? I don't hear about anyone demanding that other games make changes...you either play the game as it is and enjoy it, or you play a different game that you enjoy. Simple really
-
So salty...why continue to play the game? I didn't see anything in the BWU other than Deej being Deej. Some folks do not like how he writes things. It's a personal preference thing. When I read it, I read the whole weapon parts/wormspore/etheric light, I saw it as more tongue in cheek, mea culpa. Like I'm going to try to make a joke of having dropped my phone in the toilet. They realize they made a dumb mistake. It's pretty easy to see that. I haven't had the part problem myself, but the glimmer issue. But ultimately, if you're fed up, then stop playing. Games are meant to be fun. If it's not fun, go do something fun. Also, folks who hate the game, yet still play are continuing to support the game. They are counted in that registered user base, and in the active player counts Activision loves to talk about.
-
So you're either enraged about everything in the game or you're a "Bungie dickrider?" You see why people can't see legitimate concerns over all of the unreasonable expectations and entitlement?
-
First and foremost yes he's an asshat and second his boss doesn't have to farm for anything he just adds whatever materials he needs same as weapons, I'm sure they don't have to work for rewards they have admin access, techs just supply them with anything they need.
-
For they amount of idiocy and paranoia they absorb on a daily basis I think their candidates for sainthood. You are all so weak and whiny and over sensitive it's astounding, rereading DeeJ's posts over and over again and looking for something to be offended about it. He does a great job, you are going to be butthurt no matter what and he shouldn't take you seriously.
-
I thought it was pretty funny. There is no reason to be uptight about a video game anyways.
-
who knew so many sensitive girls played destiny
-
Weapon parts were never a problem unless you were a slot-machine junkie during HoW and spent all your parts re-rolling weapons. I've got over 1,800 parts and I infuse stuff all the time. I just didn't spend them like gambler on a Vegas bender. I used the weapons I received and somehow still managed to kill Skolas enough times to get bored of him. I didn't need God-rolled weapons to do it. I don't blame DeeJ for poking a little fun at the people in an uproar over weapon parts. You guys dug your own holes, and now you want to complain because Bungie didn't "fix" your situation the way you wanted.
-
Just one word: Entitled.
-
I noticed that same thing this week regarding the weapon parts. He was very rude.
Here is a comment from another post that explains my thoughts perfectly, all credit goes to user Wahrnye "Just another joke of a weekly update that makes it easier to not look back on this game going forward.
How would this user know what the update was about unless they keep "looking back"? Ooh, the hypocrisy. Muted.

Edited by DarthBuffLizard: 11/6/2015 4:05:26 PMThe bad- it did seem like he was a bit defensive and wanted to remind the community who owns and controls the game The good- weapon parts fix, something to do with wormspore, and promises of change (just reminded me of a certain politician!)
-
This game sucks I haven't played in a week and I'm not looking forward to it..
-
Did you change your original post? I remember this post being worded differently...
-
Based on the level of whine and moaning in this forum, not necessarily the OP, (who has time for that wall of text?), I'd say the tone was pretty spot on.
-
They count this as passive aggressive? The human race is -blam!-ed.
-
With the way most of this community talks to them, I'm surprised they haven't just posted a giant -blam!- you in the forums. I get they're supposed to be professional and have an image to maintain, but I mean deej basically has a secondary job working at a daycare. His job is to listen to us? Poor guy. Is the comments and shit necessary? No probably not, but can you blame them?
-
You don't actually know what "passive-aggressive" means, do you?
-
How does it feel to be so weak that mere words hurt you?
-
Edited by Mr Ilax: 11/6/2015 3:59:51 PMI think the posts are funny. Also, where do you get the basis that wormspore and etheric light trading should have been in game at launch? We've never had planetary resource trading before (except buying with marks). And etheric light still is a resource for non-TTK players. They are adding something to help the players and you found a way to be negative about it.
I've seen this playbook before.
You mean the playbook every company uses? Of course they are going to cater their product towards people who are going to keep buying their product. And of course they are going to use real, but misleading, statistics to promote their game.
-
literally why do you care so much
