Whys that? Theyve never given a gun to anyone who has been hurt in any other scenario. The only person whos ever gotten anything special from bungie is the tumor guy. So how exactly do you know what bungies requirements are for giving away special things.
Bungie wouldnt have done anything for the guy had the community not made such an uproar about it. Same reason they dont give the next guy a special snowflake gun for having a tumor, or the next guy or the next.
Bungies always been obsessed with trying to please the fan base (even though they can suck at it at times) its not about his pain, its about getting enough guardians to rally to his cause that bungie decides to give him something.
Whether or not this man gets a special item (probably not the a gali gjallahorn but something else) is up to the community and their drive/support
Nope, he didnt get alot of attention. There was some hype on the forums and on reddit, but the tumor guy made it into gaming magazines and blogs all over the place, that guy didn't.
Just need enough of the fan base to say 'give us what we want' and they will, as proved time and time again with the constant nerf/buff on things in the game that much of the community complained about over the course of months.
Is it unlikely this guy will get anything? Of course
Is it possible? (with enough fanbase and media attention) sure, why wouldnt it be.
