It causes new neurons to generate, and new connections in the brain to form. As far as hallucinations go, cannabis hallucinations are mild, the rare times they do occur. Benadryl causes MUCH more vivid hallucinations. If you're open to it, hallucinations can actually be quite insightful and meaningful. Heard of something called a vision quest?
