I'm assuming the change was to eliminate alts. As crazy Lincoln has shown us, it's pretty easy to bypass this new filter. Those that want to make an alt will still make them. All it's doing is creating a nuisance for some really cool people, and putting a $60 pay wall on an app.
Sure it's 1%. Even less when alts are taken into account. However that means alts are less than a percent of the users here. If the update is indeed to remove alts, I don't see the point.
The alternative reason would be to make more money. I guess TTK didn't sell well enough.

It's the Destiny app. If you don't play Destiny then you are just infiltrating our community. Go look for little boys to molest somewhere else.

Tell me you don't really think it's a play to collect money from the tiny posting populace who haven't played Destiny. That sounds like crazy talk. Consider there is also a percentage of the <1% who [i]have[/i] played but never bothered to link their account.
