Your not being taken advantage of? Bungie have made it very clear that destiny is a constantly evolving game and in order to keep up and for bungie workers to make a living you've got to buy the new content? And by giving old players constant access to old things such as weeklys , night falls and dailys your taking away the ability to play high content with high rewards for the people who bought the expansion who rightfully have priority over those who don't bother? If bungie were to allow players like you to still do end game content then your holding back 80% of the community from playing there new content to the full extent
