I would use weapons when I want to use them. I once attempted to use Monte Carlo on Cauldron, worst, desicision, ever.

Autorifle for map likes cauldron still shines, try anomaly with auto rifle, super close map , the time you shoot him, he slide to you and shotgun in the face

A nad cannon infested map versus me, with a near pea shooter. I have used it before and did well, but Cauldron is not the map to do that on.
