Yeah I had an Australian friend who's dad used to call me a pome, maybe it's an insult because we are still in England? I feel I should know the answer...

When I flew out two years ago to see my Grandad (he retired there), I was asked at immigration whether I had a criminal record? I replied that I didn't know you still needed one to get in!

Just a general term for Englishmen in our country. Also, it's 'pomm' or 'pommie'. ;)
