Not really. If you never played Halo you really have no connection at all to Bungie, unless you're a fan of their earlier works like Marathon or Oni. But the people who were there with Bungie and grew attached to the company and their goal of world domination all throughout the Halo series refer to themselves as Spartans. And its the Spartans who know, better than anyone else, what Bungie is capable of and what they have truly been able to accomplish over the years.
And when comparing all of their past works and how they have evolved over time, Destiny is pathetic and easily their weakest title. Someone actually found a game rating that places Oni ABOVE Destiny in the scoreboards, which is hilarious. Refer to the video included in this post for all of Bungie's past games (oldest to newest), its actually a pretty sweet vid.
I was a huge halo fan. However, destiny is a completely different beast. You are yearning for something you won't get with this game. Halo was a story driven campaign fps with a mp mode. Destiny is a always online mp driven fps. You speak as if bungie is missing the mark when they werent really aiming for it. You think bungie forgot how to make games when they simply didn't make the game you were looking for.
And give me a break with the "if you didn't play halo, you wouldn't understand" rhetoric. Like it was some transcendental experience that changed everything. I was around for wolfenstein, doom, and bond.
