I punched Atheon on his Oracles. After that he kneeled and gave it to me inside a golden chest filled with glimmer and the deed to the Vault of Glass. So yeah my new lab is filled with Vex test subjects, wich is a great plux.

Yes and after you can enter VoG as it was a social space and sit on the Atheon's wich actually lets you see a replay of your run and see vids of Destiny hidden story, also you can talk to the vex.
