Although this is an old, already discussed problem, I believe that we can still change. I feel that the majority of players that play Destiny are under the appropriate age for shooters. I think this age should be 18 and over. I'll give you a few reasons.
1)It causes traumatic situations. I for one do not want my child flinching and screaming away every time they see somebody holding a sword.
2) It causes anti-social instincts to grow. When you think about it, the average session a child will play in Destiny is three to four hours. That's three to four hours where the only communication the are getting is with people they have met over the Internet. I don't want children growing older and being scared of every person they see.
3) It teaches them bad words. Every lobby I go into, there is always that person (usually a child) screaming curse words for no good reason. Where did they find out these words? From older players. If there was a minimum age, you would not have this problem. Children are getting angrier because of this game.
4) My final reason is that it causes violence. No 10 year old should be able to make another creatures head explode, or shoot other players virtually. What happens when that transfers to the real world? That anger and frustration would lead to much property being desecrated including
Mailbox Baseball
Laser Tag
TPing Houses
Egging Cars
Multiple holes in the wall from being punched.
ANY PERSON who do not follow these rules should be arrested with a minimum 2 year sentence.
Thank you all for the support you give me. I believe that a change to only 18 year olds and over would make the worlds youth safer and more intelligent than currently.

Terrible troll.

Edited by Fallen_343: 6/26/2015 5:23:07 PMIn my opinion, games should not have a minimum legal age. It should be up to the parents of any child who wants to play games with a mature rating to make an educated choice on whether or not they (the child in question) should be able to play the game. EDIT: I just realized you forgot your satire tag.

It's the parents fault, not the music, video games, books, or movies. If that was the case, everyone would be nuts. It's terrible parenting, that's what causes this issue.

Obvious troll is obvious troll...

Edited by ivannn18: 6/26/2015 5:22:20 PMYeh... Like there's not kids in GTA, watch dogs, MK, or any other really blody game... Parents ya know... If it make the son stop f*cking up... They going to give it.

I never thought i'd see vandalism and laser tag in the same list...

Meh. I don't much care who plays, but I do wish the game had a Mature rating. That way we could have boobs.

This is the dumbest think I've ever read. When I was 15 I started playing Left 4 Dead. Blood, guts, murderous zombies (that actually only kick you to death lol), and violence. That was my first online game and I have 700+ hours on it. I am a rather shy person. Always have been. You know what? Once I started playing online I made friends and it was easier to come out of my shell. We laugh, talk, share stories, tell jokes, and even learn to work as a team. I've also had people not treat me all that great....calling me names and whatnot... but you know what? Gave me a thiker skin. In Destiny you shoot space pirates, robots, and aliens... and some don't even bleed... not even realistic blood. And in PvP? Yeah... I'm totally going to go out and shoot someone with a gun that fires lazers. I think the game is rightly rated. It is 'T' for teen. I do think that under 13 it could possibly be a little violent. Maybe you should be upset about the parents that don't care what their children play instead of having a fit.

Edited by Kupokitty: 6/26/2015 5:09:13 PMFrom what I've seen, parents who are too controlling and parents who are too neglecting are the ones who make brats who grow up into punks. I grew up playing Duke Nukem, Wolfenstein 3D, Turok, etc., and I'm pretty sure I can be described as a pacifist in person. Games don't ruin people. People ruin people.
After delving deeper into this thread, it's starting to smell a bit more like satire...
It's the parents fault in the end for getting the gaming

13 is good, you underestimate teens.

No not 18 there isn't enough for that it should at teen but needs a little more enforcement for younger ages

Can't believe the number of people taking this post seriously.

It's the maturity of the individual that determines what he/she does with what they see. If you let a 10 year old play a wrestling game and they go around headlocking people that child clearly isn't mature enough for that kind of content. Same goes with Destiny. If they do what they see, that's because they aren't mature enough or they aren't disciplined.
-
It's rated T so your gonna have to deal with it

I think the biggest reason why Destiny should be a higher age is because of the addictive nature and it essentially being gambling. Yes I know some kids can just play because they like to shoot shit and get what's given to them, but for those who don't and have goals & desired gear, when the outcome isn't guaranteed it's gambling. • Re-rolling weapons? Gambling • Buying exotic engrams? Gambling • Playing content for specific loot? Gambling These kids will have this mentality engrained in them from a young age and could affect their personality traits.

Edited by Seb: 6/26/2015 5:05:18 PMAs long as the parents allow it, you can play it. Tell your son to make his own party or mute everyone else. Also, why are you complaining when you haven't even tested your theory? I bet you that if my son played destiny he would be able to have more things in common with others, resulting in him being more social.
