I disagree. (Check my stats) pve players ruined PvP. The weekend warriors who wanted thorn, but never have stepped foot in the crucible. The pve players who didn't realize that this is not pve, so ducking alone isn't going to cut. You have to move. The enemy is moving. You can't find the mathematical movement sequence of a real player. Most pve don't really use split second decision making. Normally all enemies move & shoot the same. No pvpers haven't ruined Destiny because it's actually easier to go from PvP to PvE than from PvE to PvP.
You can ask the majority of PvP players about "the improvements" of the crucible & the majority of them would rather have the circle faction days over the diamond. Once again, check my stats. I'm probably more logged hours in PvE than PvP, but I enjoy PvP just a lil more. Less repetition.

I dislike pvp. once I got all my exotic bounties out of the way the only time I played was the most recent iron banner (wanted the armor and guns). I agree with you in that I can sometimes do fantastic in a pve strike, and they if I want to humble myself I just need to go play a couple rounds of skirmish to know how truly awful I am. Some of that is because I try to play it like pve and after a couple matches of a .5 kd I adapt my style back to pvp and can usually get over 1.0

See at least you know the difference. Most don't want too. They'd rather complain about it.
