You're asking for the buffs because constant use of auto rifles caused them to be nerfed in the first place. If one gun becomes the run-away favorite of the community, Bungie will see that the gun is too efficient and nerf it. So while no one "asked" for the guns to be nerfed, the refusal to use any other weapon (because ARs were more effective) was an indirect cause of the original nerf.
