Unable to remover the 'new item' shine. No matter what I do the up arrow when in the ship/sparrow/shader part of my inventory always shines, to this day for like six months, on all characters....and never goes away

I have that too!! I thought everyone had it. It tricks me all the time.

I have that and my warlock also has it on the down arrow.

Drives me nuts. To this day I'm still looking for something new. I swear it's there and I just keep overlooking it lol

I know, that drives me nuts too. I may be wrong, but I'm pretty certain clicking it will turn it off for the time you are playing.
