Invective > Gjallarhorn?
No I don't have Gjelly, so you don't have to check. The question is simple, which is going to get you more kills? How fast can you run Omnigul's strike with them? How much ammo will you have to wait for or synths will get burned?
Don't get me wrong. I want Gjelly, I'll level it and use it on raids. However, 99% of my time is spent in strikes and bounties and Invective has become, in my opinion, the most important gun (with Icebreaker) in any arsenal.
Practical application - Dying Mind Strike, arguably the toughest strike. Praetorians, 4 rounds and done. Minotaurs, 3 and out. Everything else, one shot. My last run took about 10 minutes, maybe a bit less.
The buff has completely changed the mechanics of raids/strikes and Invective now sits on equal footing, for me, with Ice Breaker as the best weapons in Destiny.
And the great thing, anyone can get it. No hoping or praying for RNG, exotic bounties are the one thing that drop all the time and the bounty is easy.
Go get it before Bungie realizes they just broke their game.
[b]EDIT[/b]: This post certainly isn't a knock on Gjelly. Like I said, I'd use it for Raids or bosses on Nightfall, but for vast majority of gameplay, it's highly accessible and changes the game.
It has a massive rate of fire and damage and you NEVER run out of ammo (for long).

You're comparing a shot gun to a rocket launcher? All shot guns now haul ass in PVE, but comparing them to any rocket launcher is stupid because they both have completely different uses... Everyone knows what happens when you shoot a Gjallarhorn at shot gun range!

2 RepliesGjallarhorn is not used for strikes haha..... I'd rather use the invective there, it's way more fun. Ghally is my option when I have to take out a target with alot of power. Like crota.

1 ReplyI was playing with my usual buddy on Omnigul ROC strike. We usualy get even kills and assists. Went blink and Invective on my new Warlock void...... The most fun I ever had in the game. Very fast game play. I doubled my amount of kills compared to him, he was like WTF !? When you are full mag and 2 feet in front of a Knight....he will go down. You can plow thru everything.

13 RepliesAs much as I [i]LOVE[/i] shotguns, the Invective wasn't a favorite of mine... The ammo regeneration and full auto mode are awesome ideas, especially together, but somehow Bungie made both of those perks not work out.

Both are really great now, but I feel like I can get a lot more kills with gjallarhorn since my Titan has ruin wings, so if heavy ammo starts dropping like rain in omniguls room, it's game over.

2 RepliesI have both and the gally is fun for a launcher as it semi forces me to level up other guns out of my comfort zone, I do find shottys fun though . If your enjoying them try universal remote And a legendary shotty. Pretty fun to play as titan in PVE with that . As for invective ive used it a few times but not properly . Hopefully il give it a proper bit of use later on

I'm using it a lot right now and saving Ballerhorn for raids/nightfall. Invective does work amazingly Will try 4th horseman when they finally fix its status

I agree, the best shotguns are now game changers like other coveted weapons. I find that my maxed Swordbreaker is fantastic against anything with a void shield

2 RepliesNow this might not work for high level mission or raids, but perfect for strikes or daily patrolling: This weekend I recieved a [u]rare [/u]shotty, the [b]Sidewinder mk.53[/b]. This shotty I think you've all seen before; It has one of the (or [i]the[/i]?) highest impact of all shotties, but very low rate of fire. However, the one I found has the [b][u]full auto perk[/u][/b], which makes it fire faster in semi auto than any other shottie I have (bar invective). That combo is HOT HOT HOT!

for strikes i use ur and the felwinters or secret handshake, by god it is fun and i can take down omnigul in like 2 or 3 minutes and even less for most other bosses, archon went down in i think a minute or so

Ummm yeah you can't compare a shotgun to a rocket launcher. Especially arguably the best rocket launcher in the game to a shotgun that might not even be in the top 3 of shotguns.

1 ReplyYa it's not even close. most legendary shotties will still wreck. Ghorn is just on another level. U point it in the general direction of what you want to destroy it turns right trigger into a fast forward button
