You can never solo the weekly heroic again
How does it feel? I'm honestly very upset. Once it drops I won't be able to duo it with one friend now (or solo), we have to:
1) drag a horrible player through
2) deal with an afk player
3) ugh
What do you guys think? I want an optional no matchmaking button. Is it that hard?

I like the matchmaking being introduced, but it was so dumb to take away the solo aspect for people who wanted it.

Often times when I do the weekly or nightfall with my friends one person may start and then the other people join after a few minutes. Now your whole fire team has to be ready at the start it you will get ransoms in your group. Why can't they just make it optional....

We really need this to be optional, I mean, I don't mind the matchmaking, but I dont like doing it with people I dont know.

If I don't have any friends doing weekly at that moment, I like to start solo. guaranteed I'll have a friend or 2 join me while i'm in the fray. I don't like losing the ability to do so. Forcing us to play with 2 randoms eliminates the ability for my friends to join at a later time. That's just BS. Overall I like the fact that they've added it, but just as you asked, "Optional matchmaking button. Is it that hard?"

I usually farm glimmer in the nightfall/weekly depending in which one is easier, so this sucks.

3 RepliesWhile I'm for matchmaking in end game content, I can't see why they aren't implementing optional matchmaking instead of automatic. The decision makers at bungie appear to be stumbling from one cock up to another without taking the time to listen to feedback from the most important people to destiny's future, the players.

What's the difference with dealing with an afk and soloing? Sounds like the same thing. People who worry about other people getting over are just wasting their time.

1 ReplyI think it's a good idea they made it matchmaking now I'll actually do the heroic every week. I don't feel like going to LFG just for the heroic. Also if people go afk just report them for not helping.

This change negatively affects very few folks. I think most players struggle having to go to destiny lfg for weekly, nightfall, raid etc I dont have a ton of friends (15) but depending on my schedule and theirs, its not always easy to coordinate weekly and nightfalls Now i dont have to, at least for the weekly

Weekly heroic ain't a big whoop. Its about that nightfall! It would take forever to solo!

It's called trying to make the weekly more challenging. You can still put a fireteam together.

even if i get an afk palyer or one that does badly, i dont rly care much. most strikes can be done solo anyways, the second player is just an additional help. since im doing weeklys solo since day one (only get people if they randomly invite themself into my fireteam) i rly dont mind having some other people with me now. makes it faster and easier than before and if they go afk; well, do it solo like always, wheres the problem?

I don't see any cons to the change. So what if you get an afk or bad player? Just play as if you're soloing it. Even if someone sucks, they can only help with the small firepower they do provide

Lol. Much better to see these complaints than the reasonable complaints of not having matchmaking. Eager to see this extend to raids and nightfalls.
