There should be a scout rifle with a single shot mode and a secondary burst mode so it can act as a pulse rifle.

I know you would think it would be easy to slap two different weapons types together if you can manufacture a new sparrow from thin air!

That would assume that our guardian who is hundreds of years in the future isn't too dumb to be able to use technology. Why am I using a ghost/lockpick/flashlight ? It's the future. Where is my night vision or thermal vision. Why am I guarding the space ghost? The monsters don't care about him. They ably hurt me.
