NEW LOOT CAVE ON VENUS!!!

It's garbage compared to the real loot cave. You would be just as well to walk around and shoot the respawns in the area for 30mins. There are much better spots than this still in the game. And this cave doesn't work with multiple players -blam!-ing around it stops the respawns. I too a trip up their earlier to find a couple of fools not knowing how to do it -blam!-ing it up.

I found the damn thing on Friday by accident. There I was, doing a Venus patrol bounty. Cleared the "Vex sensor room" lobby and proceeded to get the chest inside. I get swarmed as I walk into the room only 5 seconds after clearing it. I ran outside after clearing them again to shoot some more. After about 5 spawns I grew bored. I did however get that Ether Sups bounty quickly!

Eh... tried it yesterday and it wasn't great. At all. There are better spots for such a thing, frankly.

1 ReplyDestiny gameplay = running around shooting things in the hope you will get a reward. Loot Cave = standing still shooting things in the hope you will get a reward. Therefore Destiny = loot cave! That can't be right?

1 ReplyIf you need mats, you're better off glimmer farming and buying engrams from the class leader. VoG Gatekeeper CP is a goldmine. Good for weapon or armor exp too.

Nice you found this, always good to find a new thing. Does a loot cave even matter anymore is what I am wondering. The game is in a different place now. One of the benefits of the old loot cave is you could get a brand new character leveled up extremely fast while acquiring gear and the potential exotics. Most of us don't need to level anymore and if you did you have to get to Venus. The second thing to consider is the loot cave was a way to farm exotics at a time when most of us couldn't do the nightfall, weekly and ROC strike on 3 separate characters. Not as true now. The second issue is they changed the loot system with engrams. A legendary engram would turn into a blue so often is was ridiculous but it also did turn into an exotic and legendary at a fair clip. I play all the time and I can't remember the last time I had an upgrade on an Engram.

2 RepliesBit daft as you can just run a circuit of the area and sweep up a lot more enemies for minimal more effort (and occasionally have some fun/run into the public event). I run the Fallen leaders bounty there for that reason. As other have pointed out, there are also less time consuming ways to get a better shot at decent gear.

I went and checked it out and its not a loot cave. You can get more engrams running the omnigul strike. I seriously thought this was a troll after checking it out.

Shrugs, I rarely see purple engrams anymore. Even so, they turn into crappy Vanguard or Crucible gear with the worst random perks.

It's not loot caving any more. It's spawn camping at best. The loot drop is so low now, who cares if someone wants to stand and fire in to a cave.

6 RepliesLoot caves are useless, did you know they patched the patrol engram drop rate some time ago? The probability of getting a legendary engram from loot caves is so small that it is not worth the trouble. You are better off doing ROC strikes which has a higher chance of giving you legendary engrams and ships (I got 3 legendary engrams myself last weekend doing ROC strikes for about an hour).
