Seriously.
What use is it outside of PvP?
That's right - people who struggle to stay alive can have a second chance at dying again. Give me a Warlock whose build is based around staying alive any day of the week. A Warlock using self-res is basically waiting to die. They're holding the rest of the team back. They don't generate orbs unless they die. They don't activate supers unless they die. They're basically a drain on DPS and team strategy/cohesion. If you're a Warlock with self-res, [i]you're letting your team-mates down[/i].
When recruiting for Raids, I ask people if they use self-res and then turn them down if they say yes. I want my Warlocks to be team-players, not people concerned only about themselves.

Edit 2: Next week on Ackter Provokes: The Gjallarhorn and how if it was suddenly removed, 99% of players would no longer be able to beat anything!

What if your in a nightfall, and all you teammates are dead and a warlock goes to revive them but dies.... They would have to start the whole nightfall again! Then the warlock who died resurrects and revives everyone and saves the nightfall! I don't see how they only think about themselves! Most stupid post ever

3 RepliesI made 10 orbs using radiance. I broke the games limit on orbs you can make. It was at the first part of the hard Crota room, I killed 2 acolytes, 2 orbs, then two hallowed Knights, 4 orbs each. If you think I'm lying, I'm not. I have no reason too. I was wearing light beyond nemesis for more orbs. I'm writing this as a point. Radiance makes a fúckload of orbs, super helpful for health regen on hard Crota.

Nightfalls. Vog and crota bridge is the only time a warlock is supposed to save his self res. other than that it's hopf and 10 bombs all over the place

6 RepliesWarlock sword bearer.... Crota almost dead. Boomer kills him. He rez's, picks up sword, finishes off Crota. Rewards roll out for the fireteam. Warlock self rez for the win. ;)

If you plan using your super around dying, then you are expecting to die. I prefer to live, and use my super to kill loads of enemies, and make loads of orbs for my team mates. It's why I've no desire for "The Ram" once HoW comes, outside of collecting for the sake of collecting, and maybe screwing with people in pvp.

2 RepliesActually a warlock can generate lots of orbs if used correctly. I have a warlock on the side and barely EVER have to use self res, its about the player not just the character. If your teammates start to go down the warlock can run in with less concern because hey they have self res. Let a warlock carry the shield/sword because if its dropped they can. Self res and pick it back up. Warlocks can be very useful your just ignorant.

You know not all warlocks run self-res? Yes! True story :D Warlock is my main go-to class and I only run self res on nightfalls ;)

It can be a crutch but it's awesome to sprout flaming wings, rain down solar power on the enemy and drop orbs all over.

It's not a crutch, the Sunsinger ends up being a support class when you get the self-revive perk. I rarely die, but I always have my super ready in case my fireteam goes down, as well as myself.

I use my warlock with radiant skin often turns me into a billet sponge and with starfire protocol could add solar damage to my TWO fusion grenades. Only use self-rez in raids especially to save from wipes or nightfalls but I like radiant skin the most.

Ok when I use self Rez in nightfall and hard raid, I won't come Rez you. Then we're all happy.
