I am glad Xur didn't have the Gjallarhorn, here's why.
Ok, so let's start with the basic logic everybody already understands.
1) Xur sells Gjallarhorn
2) Everybody is happy and buys Gjallarhorn
3) People spend the weekend upgrading Gjallarhorn
4) By Tuesday, everyone has an upgraded Gjallarhorn- at least with Wolfpack Rounds.
Sounds good so far, right?
Well, let's continue.
5) Weekly Heroic/Nightfall- both jokes, people just use Gjallarhorn and slaughter the boss/the adds quickly and painlessly.
6) VoG - groups kill the Templar instantly, groups kill Atheon within 1-2 time's vengeance. So VoG is a joke.
7) Crota's End- Gjallarhorn on shriekers, every group gets hidden chest free (wasn't hard anyways). Gjallarhorn at Deathsinger, wizards dead in 30 seconds, another 30 seconds shriekers are dead, another 30 seconds to a minute and Deathsinger is dead. People use Gjallarhorn to instantly take down Crota's shield, and use Gjallarhorn on adds+oversoul. Crota fight gets even easier.
8) Vanguard Tiger/Roc - More Gjallarhorn spam, more instant killing bosses.
9) Daily Heroics - these were already pretty easy, made even easier with infinite Gjallarhorns.
Clarification: so now Everybody has Gjallarhorn, it's not special any more, everything in the game becomes a joke. Bungie is either forced to nerf Gjallarhorn or make everything in the game 5 times harder. New players would be angry because they missed the opportunity, and many will stop playing/not buy the game. Nobody has any reason to use an exotic other than Gjallarhorn unless its something like the Hawkmoon, Suros, or Mythoclast. Game is unbalanced, and the end result will be Gjallarhorn being ruined for everyone - or some other unhappy result.
[b]Tl;Dr: Game unbalanced, not fun, Gjallarhorn gets nerfed after a week/everything gets crazy health+damage buffs and everyone is sad.[/b]
Well that's my 2 cents on the matter. What are your opinions on the topic?

thats all people do right now any way. gjallarhorn is the pve iwin weapon in any situation. they eventually have to nerf it, because it's wayyyyy too far ahead of everything else. i understand exotics need to feel exotic (and they're still struggling with that. after all, nobody uses 331 exotics in the raid, but everybody uses a 300 legendary fatebringer. so much for balance), but you can't have one exotic to rule them all. but, this is bungie, and they clearly don't have much of a clue what they're doing with this game, so i'm sure it'll be addressed in 6 months from now.

2 RepliesIf it's as powerful as you claim then it deserves a nerf. Just because every single person doesn't have it doesn't mean that it should be that powerful. However I think if he does sell it it's not a bad thing. Faster raids and weeklies for all. In what world is that a bad thing? Other than for those people who want to feel like special little snowflakes in a world of generic classes and items.

Hahaha People keep comparing ICe breaker to gjallarhorn. That's silly. You still need to aim the ice breaker. With gjallarhorn you don't even need to , you just fart in their general direction and boom it's dead.

Weapon should go on xur. It should also be rebalanced / nerfed if required OR all encounters should be balanced against 2/3 s or 5/6 of the players having it

7 RepliesGjallahorn first off does not "instantly kill" any strike boss. They are sponges, and gjallahorn isn't this magic weapon you claim it to be. During the nightfalls and weekly gjallahorn doesn't just destroy everything, unless it's solar burn which has only been the burn about a few times. Other than when it's solar burn you're an idiot if you use ghorn when any matched element heavy weapon will do tons more damage. Gets your facts straight.

If one weapon has that much affect then it deserves to be nerfed. And it will, eventually.

Exactly man. I agree 100%. Every time my friends say I hope he sells it I say the same thing, that the game will become too easy and budgie does not want that. Only way he'll sell it again is if they nurf the Gjhalahorn

This is the exact reason it will never be sold. One of my buddies has a 331 ghorn, and I definitely notice the difference from when he's running a boss with me or not. It's much slower. 3 ghorns? 30 second bosses aren't impossible who would have thought a 17 second atheon run was possible? That's not broken?

One could choose NOT to use Gjallahorn but that would require one actually having it.

Doubt it works break the game but I doubt Xur will sell it again anytime soon. That's fine with me, I've never been a fan of using a exotic heavy
