Zelda 2. Edit: first game I really put an extreme amount of work into religiously was years later, and is still one of my favorite games of all time....had so much stuff in it at the time and graphics were great for snes....Super Mario RPG. I had everything you could get or do. I remember being stuck for days on one boss cause I was under leveled and didn't have alot of health potions. I had found all secret areas, weapons, etc without any guide at the time. The game I sunk hundreds of hours into was first Fable. To me that is the most complete rpg. I actually thought destiny rpg elements would be like it.

      • The super Mario all stars pack, earthworm Jim and Tecmo Superbowl...man the snes was amazing. Those were the games that I first got hooked on. The first game I probably put super legit time into was Final Fantasy 7.

      • Saw my mom play super mario bros on the nes and got curious. But what really got me hooked to gaming is a game that I dont even understand. It was a dragonball z game on the nes that is like a turn based strategy. But instead of turns you have these cards with the dragonballs on top. Dont understand a lick of japanese but I played that game until I finished it which I dont know how I did it.

      • SSR 'gold box' games (Pool of Radiance, Curse of the Azure Bonds etc.) for Commodore 64. And best of the best, Bioware classics Balder's Gate and Icewind Dale series (PC). KOTR wasn't too shabby either.

            • Hmm, tough one for me. It could have been galaga on the nes, but it also could have been donkey Kong 64 on the n64, or maybe even red alert 2 on the PC.

Chrono Trigger on the SNES. Amazing story, excellent animations by the guy who created Dragonball Z, masterful music, likable characters, first game to ever include New Game+ mode, multiple endings that depend on the choices you make in game, and much much more i'm probably forgetting. There have been few games that have captured me the same way this game has. I still religiously play it once a year to boot. Unfortunately, they don't make them like they used to anymore. Though I have hopes for The Witcher 3.
