So Xür is going to sell exotic shards
If you read the patch notes Xür, when he appears, is now going to sell exotic shards for 7 strange coins. But the question is, what will they replace? Will they be curios and replace a weapon telemetry or sparrow drive? Or will they be exotics, being that it is after all an exotic shard and replace, most likely, the exotic engram. Clearly an intellegent choice given that public events now award motes of light rather than ascendent materials.
No it won't be just added as a new item. Bungie has already shown they hate duel-existence.

They got rid of heavy ammo synthesis, could replace that

1 ReplyPublic events still reward Ascendant materials. As for the exotic shards, they'll probably just be added to his inventory without replacing anything. The notes didn't say anything about removing something from his inventory when adding them, so why assume something was taken away?

Or they'll just add it in with the other stuff...no need to take something out and replace it with the shards.

Personally I'd like it to replace the ammo or one of the drives. With motes becoming more common I plan on stocking up some engram's.
