But u only got 5 marks for 50 material, that takes a lot more time than losing in crucible 3 times and getting an extra one. Or winning losing one and winning one, or winning two and getting one extra. But ya there should be some way to get those marks and rep without going into crucible. Good direction though.

True, but PVE folks could multi task ie. while doing patrol mission and waiting for a public event, you could farm materials and chests. Then trade in materials for crucible marks.
