1 ReplySimilar to what a previous post said, Dr. Shin was part of a science team devoted to the research of the Vex and what they are. I believe in the Grimoire card series of them, they discover something. Something...vast and unimaginable.

2 RepliesHe's a partner of Dr. Foot and Dr. Knee. They tried to work on Ahamkara, but, you know, look where his spine ended up. After a malpractice suit and bankruptcy the Speaker shut them down. Read the Grimoire cards it's all there!

If you read the grimoire, the 3 part series where the scientists on Venus find that vex and learn that it's running simulations on them, one of the doctors is dr shim. He's the one that says they should bring in the warming to combat the vex simulation.

In the archive mission the ghosts is like "dr.shin?...nevermind that" so must be someone important in the story

I believe that Dr. Shin may be the one responsible for calling the Darkness and starting the collapse. He was doing research on the Vex and may have inadvertently triggered them and subsequently the Darkness that spawned them.
