Do you think Factions will divide the community?
Already we see now people are choosing sides and defending them zealously to the end. We as a whole will each have to choose our factions, but we all share the same forums, together. The implications could be enormous, especially if the inferior Dead Orbit scum keep think they are even remotely on the same level as New Monarchy.

Hopefully not. I still find it extremely idiotic that people are already choosing Factions with almost no information. They aren't as they seem, people.

I think what would happen is when the game is out, people will start groups named after factions, as they join faction wars they'll set up a game where one bungie group named after a faction fights another with the same plot. Something as big as separating the whole community would be surprising.

factions are probably the more entertaining threads on the Destiny side right now. they serve their purpose. it is admirable that they stand for a cause they do not fully understand yet.

Factions are good in one way it means there are splits this is better in terms if your in a pvp setting but there are also ai hostiles if theres lots of ai hostiles and two hostile factions do they kill each other or the hostiles, also im the founder of the apothecarion a field medic group, we aim to assist the wounded but we are funded and support by NM so they get some perks

Nonsense. You can ignore the people that take this too seriously. I do, for the most part. Thankfully I don't have to worry about anybody in Dead Orbit taking it too seriously since taking it seriously would imply anybody is worthy of our notice.

As long as it stays friendly, I'm good with it. I still read burritosenior's threads and treat him with respect and know he knows what he's talking about even though he is a part of those filthy Dead Orbit bastards. ;)

It's really not going to divide the community up any more than people divide themselves up for entirely silly and arbitrary reasons. I'm not going to lie though, the group advertisements for the factions are starting to wear on my patience somewhat.
