Having read the latest update, I gotta say I'm a bit disappointed, but not at all surprised. "Half-assing" is what I've come to expect from Bungie at this point.
When you said the first step to rebuilding trust was restoring what was taken from the players I was frankly skeptical of your commitment, and of whether you truly grasped the scale of what you had promised.
You said "all." And we expect "all."
Not just campaigns, raids, and dungeons. Not just the "easy" or "simple" or "straight-forward" parts.
ALL of it.
As I've been (finally) playing through what campaigns are still in the game (ones I've paid for but never got to enjoy because of FOMO bullcrap) it's hitting me how much of the game isn't "replayable" in the slightest.
Some examples from Witch Queen, the campaign I'm currently working through: Every interaction with Fynch, every "fetch quest" to look for "clues," every visit to the Enclave or the Tower to report in and get new leads, put simply all the story beats, lore, dialogue, and plot development that DOESN'T take place inside an "official mission."
The only way to revisit these is to delete our characters and start from scratch. And I realize it's been that way since the very beginning. Even in D1 there were many "beats" that took place outside of missions that were thus "lost to time" no matter if we revisited every available mission or not.
And that is unacceptable.
As is placing Seasonal Missions (i.e. key milestones and story elements that cannot be revisited even by players who were active during and purchased those seasons) on the slab of "things we're not going to bother with for vague reasons."
"All" means ALL.
You say you have to make "hard choices" for the sake of "the future of Destiny" but I'm going to tell you bluntly Destiny does not HAVE a future if you do not fulfill your promise to restore the past YOU torched.
This is an immutable required step to restoring the trust YOU destroyed.
As much as I would rather be putting my time into listing all the things I'd love to see from this franchise "moving forward," all he "quality of life improvements" and "new features," and all the ways I'd like to see the future of this franchise play out, I mean it when I say there is no "moving forward" until the mistakes of the past are rectified.
You need to understand just how profoundly you have wounded this community. We are NOT letting you off that easily.
Destiny, ALL of Destiny, down to the last seemingly insignificant kilobyte of data, needs to be restored. You made a promise and damnit this time you are keeping it.
And no, I don't give a rat's -blam!- if this takes resources away from Marathon. No one does. That game was a flop from the start and it is narcissistic and tone-deaf of you to act like the Destiny community owns any responsibility for that. It's time you were honest with yourselves and chalked it up to yet another STUPID executive gamble on your part that didn't pan out.

I spotted a spelling mistake, therefore ur entire argument should be scrapped and remade from scratch.

1 ReplyAgreed... I would rather play all of it at a lower quality that only have some of it at high quality... It makes no sense to only get half the story... If I wanted the short version I'd watch a video... With this I'd still need to watch the same videos... The whole point of re adding it to the game is to not need to leave the game to have the full experience... Post...
