180 HC and heat weapons are plaguing the crucible imo. Unless you’re not using one you’re gonna lose the gunfight and or you’re gonna lose the match. It’s even worse in comp or any type of competitive game modes. 140s and 120s are still a decent pick but the margin of error and the level of forgiveness for missed shots or body shots heavily plays to the 180s

From what I understand you need a perk and need to put a lot of investment in weapon stat (170 I believe). Is it strong? Yes. But investing a lot of stats into weapon means you are losing out on other stats. It’s a give and take. You can be better at certain things but be worse at others. It’s about leveraging your strengths and engaging in fights that benefit you most. I think such combos, while strong, should be strong. It should be worth investing into certain stats. When there is a lot of strong options, it makes a healthier sandbox as there are many ways to play and it doesn’t become a stagnant SpareBenders meta.

I’ll admit that I love my precision instrument 180s w/ accelerated assault, but when I am in a sweaty scenario it’s bygones/autumn wind that comes out. I spent thousands of credits to get the god roll MB-7 and I have to admit it’s not as OP as I thought it would be. Lag, latency, and things like Xim and Cronus Zen can make some of these feel oppressive. There’s also just the hard fact that some people are just that good and that Bungie rewards win streaks with a series of @$$-beatings.

12 RepliesIt’s a perk, not the gun. Precision Instrument on a 180 makes it actually broken just like Target Lock on a 900RPM like Fast-Talker. As for the baseline 180 Handcannons, you’re complaining that they’re working as designed. 180s are means to have a higher rate of fire but the lowest damage in the Handcannon class. Just sayin’.

I dont see the problem. People talk about MB7 now and 180 weapon stats, because some streamer made a video about it and it got popular. Its good yes, but it is no always 3 tap because you have damage reduction protection and people miss alot headshots. I see plenty of games where people use guns like High Tyrant, Rose, Spare Rations and kill you insanely fast. Go try out Igneous Hammer with Precision Instrument, you dont need 180 weapons stat to 3 tap xD Also go try out Autumn Wind pulse rifle and try to get Arrowhead, Ricochet rounds, Zen moment + headseeker. Its so easy to get, focus it on pvp and you get it all the time and you can buy it from Shaxx also. Its like the easiest weapon to get and is top notch laser beam that you can fight against these B7 players, but skill gap is other issue. Im just casual dad gamer of 3 small kids and they have something to show and say to dad all the time so im so bad and distracted that for me nothing helps when better gamer is against me, but this Autumn wind has given abit help.

2 RepliesOkay. Cool. Why do some people after losing a significant amount of pvp come here and complain about guns, stats, cheaters etc....and never think "huh...., skill issue?" Maybe go get one of the same weapons and try? I mean they did that to pve folks for years with seasonal model (sidearms break shield this season with so and so artifacts perk etc.) Welcome to our world.

That god roll B7 pistol feels really smooth though… I’m not big on HC but that one is one of my favourite.

2 RepliesIt's a combination of perks, weapon stat, and the fact Bungie added armor types that allow you to have the equivalent of T10 recovery while still having close to 100 super and almost 200 weapon stat. This seriously wasn't anything close to a problem before MOT because to get your weapon stat that high you could barely have 100 health if that. 180s at base need 2c2b to kill a player doing I think a little over 70 to the head and a little over 40 to the body to barely reach that 230 damage breakpoint. As for heat weapons, that is again Overclocked Heatsink which is basically the equivalent of having 140 weapon stat and the fact they all have some of the best perks/ stats in the game to better sell Renegades. Something not uncommon in pvp games. * So nerfing 180s would revert them back to a state "unusable" if they're changed to require 75% crit accuracy to kill a player. * It's not fair to nerf Precision Instrument because of ONE weapon archetype of which there's only like 4 currently obtainable 180s that can get it. * They're not going to nerf heat weapons because in pvp they have the same damage numbers as their archetypes nor the stats because they aren't too different from various other currently obtainable weapons. * The weapon stat doesn't affect every archetype and is for the most part a dump stat outside of PvP, so if they nerf it they're going to have it increase weapon performance through accuracy, aim assist, and/ or stability. * And the absolute worst I can see them doing to Overclocked Heatsink is change it to work like Phase Magazine does. Only 1 weapon had that perk and it was Stochastic Variable, a 900rpm SMG that with it would lose 1/3 of it's ROF in exchange for a damage buff to match 600rpms. And on the note of Overclocked Heatsink/ Phase Magazine, I can't tell you if it was actually supposed to cost 1/3 of the ROF or if it was simply to lower it 1 archetype because there were no 720/750rpm smgs back when Stochastic Variable was introduced. So they could either become better or worse with Heatsink because either players might prefer the slower archetypes or the weapons might create their own categories thanks to having unique RPMs. Zealous Ideal for example could go as low as 300rpm, how much damage should it do if it becomes the slowest firing AR in the game?
