Can’t say I’m surprised, you can only produce so many games that do not sell before you’re cut out, and EA changing ownership also didn’t help when Saudi ownership can look at their history of a decade of mediocrity.
It sucks to see, but BioWare hasn’t been BioWare for a looooong time.

I know the exact moment. After the merger with EA where Wilson was already monetizing everything he could with subs and micros, the media and consumers wanted to know Bioware's position on that type of monetization. That's the moment. Casey Hudson had a big fight with Wilson about it... came out publicly to say Micros will never make it into Mass Effect or Bioware games. And then Wilson fired Hudson.

It always sucks for the people being laid off. And I don’t think that’s quite fair or accurate to say BioWare dropped the ball too many times. I don’t think the talent ran dry but like other studios, it seems it’s been mismanaged to the ground by people who wanted to squeeze as much dollars as possible of a product rather than focusing on the players.
