Farming vanguard engrams has burned me out.
At the point now where I’m just working on getting better rolls on my armor and unfortunately vanguard engrams are the best place to get the armor I need. I am getting so burned out right now that I am going to take a break. I am getting so fatigued running vanguard ops to get vanguard engrams that it is killing the game for me. Until there is another way to get vanguard engrams I think I’m going to hang Destiny up. Without other ways to get vanguard engrams it’s just to much of a continuous slog and I just can’t do it anymore. They desperately need to improve the vanguard engram system. Add them into the loot pool for other activities, do something… I’m just so over it right now…

I understand that engram farming can be frustrating, but we have daily focusing and other ways to make farming specific items much more manageable. If you take advantage of these systems and plan your farming around them, it's really not as bad as people make it out to be. I understand wanting to earn engrams, but with more effective farming methods available, I have to wonder why you'd rely on engrams to get armor in the first place. I think it's important to make an effort to use the systems the game provides, but honestly, part of the fun of farming is finding the right gear to build a loadout that suits your playstyle.

1 ReplyIf you want Smoke Jumper, Techsec, or Ferropotent, the best way to get them is to farm Master Lost Sectors with your engrams full. When the loot goes to your postmaster, you can decode it at the tower, and it'll decode as World Loot, which includes those armours. For Swordmaster and Bushido, you can get them from Xur, and you can use your ghost mod to (inconsistently) change the archetypes of some of the armour he's carrying, so it makes it pretty easy to get the rolls you need from him over time.

The drop rates are not that bad. And you have to play vanguard ops to get the engrams.
