Fighting this in the crucible can be a bit oppressive for the other classes and even the best hunter mains in the crucible have a term for using it all the time “INVIZ CRUTCH”
No worries, I have a solution that will not take away from the hunters ability to become illusive.
Take for example the exotic MASK OF BAKRIS, after using your dodge ability there is a ten second timer called light shift it pauses the class ability timer while the damage perk is up.
Heres what can be done to make it more balanced and less oppressive but still fun to use.
While the void invisibility timer is on screen class ability gains are paused. This simple change will make a big difference in uptime.
But here is the main problem with this class ability. All opponent aim assist comes to a halt while invisible this feels very oppressive. Here is what can be done to stop the oppression.
Taking damage from opposing guardians weapons end invisibility.
This would make this ability take more skill when picking the times to use it.
I love you hunters but its the only way.

INVIS IS A CRUTCH AND HUNTERS KNOW IT! They will always come out and say the same nonsense ...oh the others have this and that. Thats why Hunters dominate the crucible. Please spare me. Even i can admit Hunters are the kings of crucible. Just stop blowing smoke up our ....... and saying that you not. Hunter invis should not be in crucible......everything else for hunters should be left alone.

Edited by NotCreative123: 9/28/2026 1:32:41 AMNah, y'all full of it. Its a skill issue. Overall Hunter Usage: ???% Overall Void Hunter Usage: ???% Overall Hunter Usage In Trials: 56% Overall Void Hunter Usage In Trials: 28.5% High Skill Hunter Usage: 57.89% High Skill Void Hunter Usage: 30.39% High Skill Hunter Usage In Trials: 58.64% High Skill Void Hunter Usage In Trials: 31.35% As you can see, I am missing rhe data on general usage rates in regular PVP modes, but I have the full data on Trials. Looking at the data, we can colude that there is very little to no correlation between winning more and using Hunter in Trials. I believe Trials is representative of regular PVP with the sole exception being that stupid artifact super cheese that is so popular now. On the other hand... Ecven if invis is not OP, it still sucks playing the same loadouts over and over, and invis slows the game down. I dont like it.

It’s not the only class that spams abilities. All have something to crutch. I don’t have a KD to say this but I will since you’re whining….git gud bruh.

Edited by Puma Kane: 9/27/2026 6:40:17 PMBefore Hunters are touched, Bungie needs to tone down Warlocks spamming sht all game. Also I rather deal with invisible Hunters over straight line Titans, Warlocks running invincible Strand or Hunters beaming knives across the map. All classes can be a pain, but there is too much ability spam that does so much damage. Either tone down its frequency or damage dealt.

12 RepliesSmall problem. Well, several. One being that invis is the ONLY thing Nightstalker can build into in pvp. Super isn't worth building beyond 100 (like all the rest in pvp), it has no grenade builds, and the only actual melee can't even break shields even when it's benefitting from Stylish Executioner, On The Prowl, and hitting a void debuffed player. So the only things it makes sense to build into are Super, Health, class (depending on what exotic you're using like Dance Machines), and weapons. Every single aspect and exotic revolves around buffing and/ or proccing it. Enemies still have aim assist against invisible players, it's just dodging that disables it for a second. Disabling invis after taking damage would DESTROY Spectral Blade. Every time they nerfed the visibility, the super got hit too, so I see no reason to believe this wouldn't still be the case here in that damaging Spectral would disable invis which not only currently decreases it's damage resistance, but also it's duration. And Bungie also usually has trouble separating PvE from pvp, so this would likely also affect PvE unless they address how quickly enemies gain and lose aggro. That Bakris comparison also isn't exactly fair considering it gets back class energy on kill and buffs arc and stasis weapon damage, allowing you to keep chaining kills and dodges. Given, I think it requires 2 kills to fully charge it with 100 class stat, but Arcstrider can ignore that with the right aspects and class stat investment if stat investment is even needed at all. Nightstalker is the only subclass in the game where most if not every "solution" people keep coming up with would nerf ALL aspects, ALL Nightstalker exotics, AND one or more supers as well as make the very point of the subclass null. * Remove radar? A blind assassin is a dead assassin. * Weaken them for using it? Nerfs Spectral Blade too, and most if not every debuff comes with visual effects too, so this would be a double nerf at least. With that in mind, the previous nerf would also likely get the same treatment because I'm pretty sure players that lose any part of their HUD are debuffed and get a visual effect on them. * Disable invis upon taking damage? Already explained. * Disable class ability Regen while invisible? That's only a few extra seconds added to the cooldown, but still a nerf that would hit PvE too no doubt. And unless it gets balanced like Bakris does, this would also cripple the current functionality of Graviton Forfeit and Omnioculus as well as Dance Machines, Sixth Coyote, and the Class item. It's the one trick pony of all subclasses. It did the equivalent of putting all its skill points into a single stat. Before they should do anything else to invis, they NEED to either give it more build variety, FULLY lean into the assassin playstyle so (Spectral would need a significant speed boost and Phantom Surge would need to do significant damage if used while invisible), or they should rework ALL other subclasses to be one trick ponies as well so they get balanced the same. Broodweaver and it's exotics for example would focus 100% on Threadlings (damage, quantity, uptime, and utility like the Swarmers provide). Striker would focus 100% on melee damage, the speed, or damage mitigation (literally part of their "class identity") needed to get in your face. Gunslinger would focus 100% on weapon performance and damage. Dawnblade would focus 100% on healing or air superiority. Defender 100% on damage mitigation or overshields. Etc. If invis should be nerfed still, it should wait until Nightstalker actually gets real build variety or they start rework all other subclasses the same way in they only get different flavors of the same build and any nerfs to the one thing they're good for will nerf everything on that subclass and it's intended exotics. And I can promise you if they did the latter, invis would be the least of your worries.
