Persistent Weasel 60–90 seconds after character selection.

For approximately three days, I have consistently received error code Weasel around 60–90 seconds after continuing past the character-selection screen. This happens on every character and every Destiny account tested on this PC, including fresh accounts, previously used accounts, and accounts without Cross Save. Destiny remains running when the error appears. Troubleshooting completed: - Disabled VPN and confirmed its VPN services and drivers were no longer active. - Power-cycled the router more than a dozen times. - Tested both wired Ethernet and Wi-Fi. - Tested through a phone hotspot, with the same result. - Confirmed there is no double NAT and that the router has a public WAN address. - Confirmed UPnP is operating and creating mappings. - Checked latency, packet loss, and MTU with no abnormalities found. - Verified Destiny 2’s Steam files multiple times. - Completely uninstalled the Steam version of Destiny 2 and downloaded a fresh copy through the Xbox PC app. - Tested both the Steam and Xbox PC versions multiple times. - Ran `netsh winsock reset` and `netsh int ip reset`, followed by restarts. - Confirmed there is no configured WinHTTP or user proxy. - Checked DNS policy, persistent routes, static IP/DNS configuration, and the Windows hosts file. - Confirmed Ethernet uses automatic DHCP and DNS. - Found and corrected a disabled Teredo configuration. - Confirmed Teredo is now qualified with cone NAT, UPnP enabled, and port-preserving behavior. - Confirmed Destiny opens UDP port 3097. - Confirmed Windows Firewall is enabled and contains inbound TCP/UDP rules for both Destiny installations. - Confirmed BattlEye launches, remains running, and has valid digital signatures. - Tested with overlays, capture tools, Steam, and other unnecessary background programs closed. - Confirmed Windows logs show no Ethernet, DHCP, DNS, or TCP/IP failure when Weasel occurs. - Confirmed Destiny does not crash and appears to remain running normally after the error. - Successfully ran `DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth`. - Ran `sfc /scannow`, which repaired corrupted Windows files. - Restarted Windows multiple times throughout troubleshooting. The problem persists across multiple accounts, launchers, installations, and internet connections but remains isolated to this PC, none of the previously stated troubleshooting has had any noticeable effects.

  • Hello there, Thank you for your detailed report. We understand you're unable to play Destiny 2 due to a persistent Weasel error. We're sorry to hear of this, as we can imagine the impact of such an issue. Having reviewed your report, we see you mention the error code being isolated to the PC you're on. Just to confirm, have you already verified that you are able to access your account and characters without experiencing the Weasel error code on another PC or platform?
