Cross-Save
Hey, so I have a BIG issue. I have been playing Destiny 2 for almost 10 years on PlayStation. WAAAY back in the day, I had a laptop that I tried running Destiny 2 on (spoiler: did not work) and wanted to try the cross save feature when it became available. I had everything set up for my Steam account, logged in, even played a few other games on it. Fast forward to two years ago. I purchased a new gaming computer that could run Destiny 2. I tried logging into Steam, and I got locked out because I forgot my passwords. After a full week of getting a new account and switching everything over from my old account via Steam, I tried to get my cross save to work. I hit authenticate, and I keep getting "The account you attempted to verify is not linked to your currently logged in account. Please try again with your linked account for this platform". My old email is the same email because I had it all switched to the new Steam account.
All I want to do is connect my steam and my playstation accounts so I wont lose 10 years of my work. It hasnt worked for 2 years, I keep trying. I cant do anything but authenticate. I cant deactivate anything. My Playstation account is linked and authenticated, I just need my old steam account unlinked so I can link the new one, with the same email.

1 ReplyI have the exact same problem. I played exclusively on PlayStation for years, but I switched to PC a long time ago. My account here is linked to an old Steam account—one I still have full access to—yet there is no way to unlink them. It’s bizarre and frustrating; I’m certainly not going to start the game over from scratch after investing so much time in this account, and I don’t want to be tied to playing on PlayStation. It’s ridiculous.

7 Replies* Your PlayStation characters/progress are **not lost**. * The issue is that Bungie is linked to your **old Steam account/Steam ID**, not your new one. * Using the same email does **not** make it the same Steam account. * Bungie no longer allows Steam/PS/Xbox accounts to be manually unlinked from a Bungie profile. * You need to recover access to the **original Steam account** through Steam Support. * Check **Bungie.net → Settings → Accounts & Linking** to confirm which Steam account is linked. * Do **not** deactivate Cross Save or change anything on the PlayStation side until you recover the old Steam account.
