Told You So
IDK why I received so much flak for this take-
Destiny is the only profitable venture Bungie has had in a decade.
Bungie sold for $3.6B.
Bungie's value was almost entirely derived from Destiny at the time of the Sony acquisition.
Destiny was NEVER going to go offline. NEVER.
Sony basically paid $3.6B for it. Whether they realized that's what they were buying or not is an entirely separate story though......

Cuz Sony didn't buy Destiny. They bought Bungie. Destiny was JUST WRITTEN OFF...for the future Sony paid for... That future was a failure, they had to pivot. I'm not tryna give you "flak" either. Just perspective. Sony had no interest or intention, with Destiny. It was a PLANNED 10 year saga that ended. The future is what Sony bought... not the past.
