We Risk Everything...but Is it Worth It?
Guardians keep finding these new civilizations that are supposedly sooo technologically advanced, but still need our help against even the most basic enemies. For instance, the robot people on Klepper are supposedly so smart, but they couldn't defend themselves against the Fallen. The Fallen are literally the most basic enemies out there, and Kleppers couldn't even defeat them. That doesn't sound that "advanced"to me.
For all our efforts, what are we getting in return? We saved Neomuna and their clean and pretty city, yet the Guardians are stuck living in a broke down tower surrounded by a run down city. It seems only fair that these planets we save start paying some sort of tythe or tribute for our help. If we are taking all the risk, there should be something in it for us. At the very least, each civilization we save should have to send a group of people to help work on improvements to the tower. If we are going to be everyone's saviour, we deserve to live in better conditions than the tower in its current state.

2 RepliesNeomuna has already given us Nimbus. Whom we can visit and look upon, as we are transfixed in awe and adoration. Not only may we view his wonder, he also entreats us to “go kill some baddies“. Asking more from Neomuna when they have already bestowed this wondrous gift would be iniquitous.

1 ReplyI mean the point of allies is that you help them without demanding something. The reef is the only place ever really capable of helping outside of the main fight tbh. Even that got all screwed up by Riven curse locking the dreaming city. The people of Neomuna power everything via the veil and basically got their civilization via starter kit due to one of the exodus ships. So aside from quicksilver nanites and knowledge they honestly aren’t bringing a whole lot to the table. And Kepler is just a mess. It’s basically an institute where people have studied the area for a long long time. The only thing moderately interesting they could provide would be those strangelet capsules. But I’m not even really sure what that would do to help. Also what would they even tithe? Not like they can pay taxes.

1 ReplyWell the vanguard is smart enough to not make a completely finished tower because otherwise another catastrophic event (like Gaul) will show up and then we’ll have to fix MORE problems then we already do

So technically Neomuna has been sharing it's science with the city such as the quicksilver nanites which are an advanced form of siva essentially. We are also free to traverse their city, archives, etc. We also have unlimited access to the veil. Truth be told even with all that the Neomuni have, we guardians are still stronger because of the light and darkness. As far as technology goes however, they have been pretty good about sharing. Kepler on the other hand is a different story. These guys were so removed from the rest of humanity that they may as well live in a different universe. They built a utopia but had no need for defenses because their wasn't really any fighting. All they cared about was advancing their studies and growing their culture. I mean they literally created a new language. They had no internal wars or conflict and weren't aware of what was happening in the greater galaxy. They too however have been sharing their advanced technology and culture with Earth. At the end of the day guardians protect humanity. It doesn't matter where the humans are from. They all came from Earth. Actually guardians protect anyone who needs it. Charging a fee or demanding tribute would be immoral and against the guardian creed created by the Iron Lords all those years ago. This was why people had a problem with the Sunbreaker order.

3 RepliesI would use glimmer, matterglass and matterweave, to make my home outside the city and away from it all. Somewhere in the mountains, small cabin...then create some energy proficient generator, comms relay (for internet), and some gaming console...plenty of guardians out there saving the world. Oh and a coffee machine, and a rocking chair.
