Softlock "Welcome to the Frontier" - after receiving Renegade Abilities
I have tried to do the fix where you unequip the abilities, return to orbit, relaunch the activity, and then equip the abilities and I still get stuck after the explosion and Spider's apology speech. Is there a way for someone to describe what's going on under the hood so I can maybe help in some way?

Hey there, just making sure - you're stuck in place until you prime your Renegade abilities (the coin flip, which puts your Renegade abilities into the grenade and melee slot) and then press the appropriate key/button to activate the Revitalise ability - will generally be your grenade button. Are you doing all this, and are you still stuck after doing it?

We've received reports of this issue in the past, as well as the workarounds you describe. Just to be sure, are you waiting for the dialogue to play in the hangar before re-equipping your Renegades abilities? If you are and this issue is persisting, then please consider recording a short video of the issue wherein we can see you performing the workarounds you list and the issue persisting.
