I played a couple matches earlier after a while it was mostly 50/50 but there is a lot of ppl leaving mid match idk if it is just my lobbies or what but i wanna hear some outside opinions.

There are less and less Average Joe's every day. I play a lot of Control and I see at least two really skilled players and a handful of above-averages. There are a lot of viable weapons in PvP but it's almost always Masterwork Tier 5s that shine above the rest. Kinda kills any fun stupid builds. Most can't just pull out an Uncommon 120 handcannon and do well. Hunters are absolutely running amok in PvP. Even worse than before. That's not to say that Titans and Warlocks can't come out on top. There are far better options on Hunter. I mean Nova Bomb is subpar compared to Blade Barrage, just for a quick comparison. Personally I think the radar is bugged and players move too fast. That's just my opinion.

Tons of blatant cheating.

1 ReplyControl: Sweaty, Laggy, ability spam Clash: Control x2 Trials: Unbalanced but fun :) Comp: Sweaty, unbalanced but fun :)
-
It’s 💩 Enough ‘said’.
-
Lobby balancing is as bad or even worst than ever, there is more lag than ever, and on console there are lot of some sort of cheating (external devices which cannot be named here). But when all of above works, it is fantastic. So basically lottery to hope for a good competitive match.
-
1 ReplyTrials and Competitive are full of cheaters. Quickplay modes are 50/50 when it comes to the experience since they have SBMM which is horrible for quickplay modes. This is a problem is multiplayer games in general. The devs don't understand their audience and cheaters enjoy ruining people hobbies because they believe they are superior.

Edited by Kyrin7: 8/17/2026 6:24:05 PMI play console and I'm liking PvP a lot. A lot of losers are ragequitting, but I suppose that trash will get themselves banned from PvP once they abandon it enough times. Private matches are my favorite. Leveling all of my level 20 crafted weapons to level 30 while exploring their refreshed perks in PvP is fun. New exotic catalysts is something to look forward to. Things have been good.

I suck at it, and all I hear is complaining. So I try to avoid it and I think my life is better off for that.

1 ReplyEdited by GradeMyGuardianTTV: 8/13/2026 7:04:36 PMAs a casual in an average ELO, I've been queueing alot more than in my recent past. Maybe it's just friends not really queueing, or maybe it's the fact every match feels different than the last. I see a few longstanding issues that have been a slight plague in the past and will likely continue to be forever. They are as follows- Suspend Slow Freeze Blind Suppress Turrets/Buddies Generalized Ability Spam These are my primary gripes with PVP. They're mostly subclass verbage that create a HUD advantage, OR restrict movement. As I've said in the past, movement is one of the cornerstones of skill expression in Destiny 2. Anything that reduces that expression is simply unhealthy for a competitive sandbox to thrive. Additionally, HUD advantages have no counterplay, and are thereby unhealthy for a competitive sandbox. Blind and Suppress obviously create a HUD advantage. It's problematic simply because there is no true counterplay. Slow, Freeze and Suspend are problematic as they also have severely reduced counterplay, in addition to reducing movement. The game becomes baiting abilities out that reduce your skill expression, yet simultaneously lower the floor of competition for your opponent. Turrets are an entirely separate theory debate. The first issue is they enhance player DPS output via AI. This is problematic since 2 classes have no means to accessing them. The second issue is counterplay. Barring a Bleakwatcher Turret, there are no means of counterplay other than kiting and retreating from an enemy. This severely manipulates pacing, another foundational aspect of skill expression in a PVP gamemode. Ultimately, all of these issue are very AI dominant. AI Damage via Turrets. HUD reduction via AI. Movement reduction via AI. They could address this two different ways. #1. Eliminate them entirely (not the healthiest approach short term, but would be quality long term). #2. Severely increase the cooldown of abilities that are centered around these concepts (unlikely given the confirmed state of D2). In the end, all these abilities do is counter any potential Destiny has as a competitive Shooter. Which is a shame, because the movement and gunplay is still bar none.

Polpadare“Have fun with it” killed the game - old
Destiny pvp, good. Other games pvp, bad. Haven’t seen a fps with a decent pvp since bo3. -
Feels fine, but I wish there was more variety. Meta is void Hunters + Dragons shadow, and that gets boring. Besides that, all the new gear really allows for lots of variety
-
Finished a 6v6 as the only player on my team left. And it’s not like my “teamates” bailed before the results came up, i was on my own for last 60 seconds. But so what? It’s just a bit of fun.

Crucible is as balanced as a house of cards in gale force winds. Bungies horrific attempts at making crucible fair over the years are laughable, and they still haven't got it right. Their anti cheat is as useful as a chocolate teapot, and the way they've catered to the top tier skilled players over the years has killed the game for the average Joe. If destiny 3 ever comes out, I sure hope Bungie are not the ones making it.
-
It sucks like it always has, but if you want nice things you have to endure it.
-
31 RepliesOn console it’s great. No cheats or lags or anything like that. Those who say cheaters are also on console it’s a skill issue.
-
fishy fishy fishy
-
5 RepliesGo into Comp. It's worse.

1 ReplyShould have been removed years ago.

PvP is bad and has been for years. I guess it is getting worse because people are moving on? Bungie never could balance the mode which makes it drive players away.
-
It's absolute terrible, as it has always been just in my promotion series for my ascendant rank and in my final match at 2 all a player leaves my team. Brave Bungie, let's hope the development team that implemented that don't get jobs in pvp field again
-
Fkin terrible ngl, it’s always some bs with Hunter invis or warlocks void nades being literal nukes not to mention the bs weapon meta not making any damn sense
-
Doesn’t look like its changed any
-
Don't play it.
-
One word. Eww.

1 ReplySure here’s my take, not worth much but scouts are too good mainly Jade but in general they are too oppressive. Pulses are also a little too hot but have to be to fight scouts. Everyone in here crying about hand cannon shotgunners like we are in trials of the nine still. Ability spam is excessive atm. Invis shouldn’t be in the game but at least it’s seen several nerfs main one being less radar. Fusions still need to not exist or at least have more downsides cus they’re free. Sidearms are also very hot, beating really anything in its range. Titans still munch on crayons and spam light melee fist of havoc like they have a blindfold on and still wipe the team. Same old same old ya know

PVP is really all I play. It can be fun or it can be frustrating depending on the connection gods.
