I want to entertain a hypothetical.
Let's say we get D3 or some equivalent of same. What is one thing you DON'T want in the new game? The only disqualified answer is "Content Vault" because everyone will say that and I want some different answers.
I'll go first, no PVP. Now I know so many of you PVP heads will go "Le gasp! No PVP? What is wrong with you?"
But I'm sorry, one look at the forums, both here and beyond for years, even before the Monument of Triumph, has revealed that PVP is broken and the latest fixes are just "Disable The Thing" So the only real way to make PVP balanced is to remove key things that make Destiny...well Destiny.
You are then faced with 3 options: Leave it unbalanced and make all but the sweats unhappy, gut the system and make it hollow, or not have it and avoid the headache.
Given that many players cite PVP as the reason they left, I say just avoid the headache. But it's just an opinion. What are some of your "do not's" for the future?

The series needs a d2 sunset reboot before a sequel. And no one cares what the “I bought the game already, I am not buying it twice” crowd has to say. Remakes sell most people want them. But not a D1 remake that is a waste of time and resources. -

1 ReplyAs many have said, FOMO should just die. It's terrible for the player and terrible for the Devs as who wants to put any real effort into something that will only be in the game for a few months.

7 RepliesEdited by Zodleon: 8/10/2026 10:34:09 AMPvp is the only reason im still playing and haven't sold my ps5. By the end it was almost entirely optional yall pve heads can keep your opinions to yourselves bout it.

1 ReplyEdited by Golden: 8/7/2026 9:58:40 PMNo more FOMO. If it’s added to the game as a main feature, it should NOT go away. Obviously stuff like Holiday stuff like Solstice, Dawning, etc will be on their normal rotation, so if players miss it, it’ll just return. But stuff like expansions, locations, should NOT just get taken out.

1 ReplyI could do without the seasonal model. If a D3 ever did happen, I would want it not to have any of the FOMO nonsense.

5 RepliesPeople site a lack of updates to PvP as the reason they left, meaning PvP, when actually cared for, is part of the reason they stayed in the first place. Look, PvP can and has been good when Bungie has actually put effort into taking care of it. Even if the Sandbox is unbalanced, Bungie understands in some ways how to reduce the effect said Sandbox has on PvP. Getting rid of PvP would do more harm in the long run, as it’s the only activity that can stay somewhat evergreen. Even raids get boring running them over and over and over again, but PvP, the way you engage can change based on who you’re fighting, how you’re playing, and the build your bringing in. PvE lacks the “Who you’re fighting” because the enemies and their spawns will always be the same.

7 RepliesThere should be nothing from D2. Clean slate. Fresh start. Absolutely no gear that’s reprised, brought back, refreshed or reimagined. Maybe a couple of new emblems or something to recognise people played D1/D2.

1 Reply•New engine that removes the spaghetti code where 1 thing bugs another •better balancing than just nerfing something into the ground •the d2 art direction, too clunky and cartoons, d1 had better concepts

3 RepliesClasses. Just do away with them altogether.

1 ReplyCheaters (any kind of), but I know it's just wishful thinking.

3 RepliesYou hire a veteran mechanics developer that used to work for Capcom or another fighting game developer. Then PvP doesn't need to be balanced. And you develop robust counter systems for ability spam, but you let it live. You make Destiny the MvC of FPS. Heck, I'd like some better counters in PvE too.

1 ReplyEdited by l HyperLethal l: 8/6/2026 4:36:15 PMDude, this ain't Halo. PvP is probably always going to be in an unbalanced state, more or less, thanks to the volume of weapons, abilities, and perks. It's simply not meant to be a comp game. That doesn't mean we shouldn't strive for balance, but outright removing PvP alienates a decent chunk of our playerbase.

2 RepliesRemoving PvP would be a terrible idea. The best thing about Destiny is earning loot in one area of the game and taking it to another. Same for gambit also. Keep these things. I’d remove sunsetting, FOMO and eververse
