Obscure Catalyst RNG
Is it just me, or are the only Exotic Weapon Catalyst that are dropping coming from beyond obscure, irrelevant weapons in relation to what you actually use and prefer?

2 RepliesThe Desire Sensor(tm) is always real in gaming. That said, I ended up getting all the catalysts (except most Raid catalysts) to drop in the past 2 months since returning and completed them all just farming Public Events. Except Fafnir. That one I gave up halfway and just went to Shuro Chi to complete, 700 kills was too much even for the special reload ability. Keep going and trying to get as many Exotic Orders done as possible, they should drop regularly through those, I have found.

2 Repliesit's happening to me too. im trying to get the last word catalyst to drop by using it in quick play masters and the only catalyst that dropped was devils ruin. i completed two exotic orders and was rewarded with obscure catalysts. im still having fun though; would be funner if i was rewarded with what im trying to get via actually using said weapon.

It’s just random 🤷🏻♂️ did I want Bastion to be my first catalyst after the update? No not really. But it had to drop at some point.

I am quite sure that a lot of loot is weighted, and I got several useless cats first. Among the first 5 were all Glaives. But tbh that’s random. If you could influence the drops with what weapon you actually use, it wouldn’t be random. You don’t need to have the weapon equipped, no difference.

More likely that you want a specific catalyst and anything that isn't that is seen as negative. There are a lot of exotics people don't use any more, so getting those will feel lame.

The first random one that dropped for me was microcosm which at the time I was using constantly
