Here's my method for farming Lost Sectors, that I do solo, but I heard has team farming now... IF
You don't care about exotic engrams; I haven't confirmed it... but essentially if Master is a little too spicy for yah... you can bring in a friend or 2.
Anywho, in this topic I will break down the exact specifics for a perpetual farm.
The first step is to have an empty postmaster.
That is your bank, your net. You have 21 spots — 3 rows of 7. 21... remember that metric.
2. Fill your character engram slots.
The most common are Exotics and Bright Engrams. You can use the rewards pass. Xur sells 1 uncoded exotic per week and has them on his track. You can buy 1 Exotic from from the chronologs kiosk and 2 Bright engrams from the same kiosk.
If you're fine solo, obviously the Lost Sectors themselves...
Once you have all your character engram slots full, any engrams you receive will push uncoded to your postmaster.
And the cool thing about this, is that when you pull them... they'll decode into T5 Banshee weapons and T5 world drop armor.
Instead of destination armor.
I just started this grind last night on my Hunter. It's supposed to be:
Swordmasters, Bushido, Ferro, Smoke Jumper, & Techsec.
It isn't. I was looping for hrs last night... never saw SM or Bushido.
So,
Ferro
Smoke Jumper
Techsec
And these sets are hard to grind because of the Vanguard engram bottleneck. These sets, previously, didn't have access to archetypes we do now.
I'm focusing Powerhouse splits first. These uncoded engrams can be focused... ≈ 33%, so 1 in 3 should drop with the desired archetype...
We're playing Blackjack 😜.

1. Empty your postmaster (conditional if you're team farming, I'll reference those nuances as I understand them later).
2. Fill your character Engram slots
3. Pick a Lost Sector you like
Your "hand" is your running total in your postmaster. You get 1 card each run. I've never gotten more than 4 drops from the chest + any engrams that drop on the ground.
So, you want to keep an eye out as you complete the Lost Sector for those engrams that may drop on the ground.
That's your card each run. Say 3 chest drops + 1 ground drop... that's 4.
4 out of 21.
Next run... 3.
4+3. Now you have 7 out of 21.
You're keeping a running tally, avoiding going over 21.
18/19+ go claim them or risk losing stuff... and this is important to keep your fill engrams (Exotic Engrams) to keep the loop going. I'll do a run at 18... even though it can be risky, your reset engrams will collect at the bottom... why I keep 2 or 3; and will be pushed out first should you go over.
There is a way to mitigate when you're getting close to 21 since you plan on resetting the loop anyway...
If I'm at 18... I have 3 spots before I lose stuff, I get 3 drops from the chest ... 1 on the ground 😩... if you're mindful... I'll delete a character engram during the end of mission timer, pick up the ground drop. Then I won't lose those fill engrams for the next resets. Happened last night. Again, if you're mindful... you have like 30 secs to prevent losing stuff. But that's why I usually start with a buffer of 2 or 3 engrams in my post (If this seems confusing, it won't be once you start doing it).
If you plan on farming as a team, those won't drop (Exotics) so you'll need fill engrams from the season pass or Xur... Chronologs (though limiting the number of loops you can do by what stock you may have remaining on the pass or as your weekly buys).
You could prime your postmaster with fill by playing Solo and banking some exotics per the number of loops you plan on doing. This could be done on advanced where you just delete all the legendaries as they'll be T3&T4 drops in anticipation for your team runs.
As a solo, you'll naturally get 'fill' ... reset engrams for this loop whilst playing as Exotic Engrams. You'll average 3 to 5 per loop... more than you'll need, but I was keeping 2 banked after I start just in case, I go a loop without any reset drops... but it hasn't happened yet.
You then fill your postmaster as close to 21 as possible... keeping that count or using an app.
Go back to the tower. Claim 1 character engram. Pull all the "LEGENDARIES" from your postmaster minus reset engrams (Exotic or Bright).
Then you re-max... your character engram slots using those 'fill'... RESET engrams.
The number of reset engrams becomes your new starting metric.
So, I complete a loop... go to the tower, claim a character engram slot...
Claim the Legendaries, then ONE exotic to reset that loop.
If I still have fill engrams remaining, the tally starts there.
If I have 3. Then I start at 3. Back to the Lost Sector.
That's the loop.
As a solo player you can loop infinitely. As a team, you'll need fill/reset engrams for each loop. However, as a team... you'll get more drops (per full loop) as Exotic engrams can't drop during each loop.
Note: Remember to have your Ghost focusing mod on for the archetypes you want.
2nd Note: Some of the engrams will be enhancement cores... anecdotally, it used to be those would show as 0 power, so you could delete them... now they show as your cap (550 for me).
It's still worth it.
I like Carl, Karl? on Nessus (Conflux - waterfall LS)... because it's one room, harder to miss any engrams that might drop on the ground... can be done in 3 mins easily Solo... as a team? 90 secs or less.
😇👍💠
TLDR:
1. Empty your Post minus loop reset engrams
2. Max out/Fill your character Engram slots
3. Farm a Lost Sector you like pushing the engrams to your Post
4. Claim ONE character engram to then pull those Lengendaries with the desired archetype for armor drops on your ghost.
5. Reset the loop by maxxing out/filling your character engram slots once again.
Rinse and Repeat
Bonus:
Other things you can farm during this loop... I'm looking for a specific split for Fortunes... right? But I don't want to waste mats or ciphers... or am poor in those categories 😭. If you're grinding Solo... you'll be overflowing with exotic engrams. You could just pull them randomly.
Or plan the farm on a day where the exotics you want fall in the daily FREE focusing slot. Yesterday it was gloves. Obviously some RnG, but absolutely free and gives some narrowing of the massive pool. In the above example I'd wait for boots day.
In general, a great way to target farm and focus exotics in any particular slot (helmet, gloves, chest, boots) for FREE... tab all the way to right at Rahool. The slot rotates daily.
There is also, a cheaper focusing option with prisms.
2nd Add:
It also occurred to me, that separate from this specific farm... "Stacking & Pushing"... per that team play, if you wanted to farm Destination Tier 5 armor outside of Distortions?
You could team farm Master Lost Sectors at any time.
And that seems cool on its face already, even if you can solo it... might be fun to hang with 2 guardians rushing LSs for that loot.
What's the 2 locations... technically 3, where there are no Distortions? Neomuna and The Pale Heart. You could farm that Destination armor as a team for T5s running Lost Sectors as a duo or trio.
The Nessus set is great for sure. The Conflux LS would be an easy farm for a duo or trio.
